Orlando Vacation Resorts for the Family

As an Orlando vacation resorts devotee, I can recommend all of the theme parks, but did you know the area is brimming with other excellent visitor attractions without a roller coaster in sight. Orlando is also full of lakes, parks, exhibitions, historical places, markets, shops and much more. Whilst many people that visit are first timers, more are returning for their second, third or more time as there is always something new to see.

It is a great place to visit even if you only have shopping on your mind as Orlando area is full of beautiful shopping malls, restaurants and shops of every type. More than 35-million people each year come to enjoy a vacation in Orlando at the many attractions and events that make it a great place to visit.

The Central Florida Zoo for instance only opened back in’75 and was owned by the Sanford Fire Department prior to that but is now the home to over four hundred animals. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.

Then there are the works of Louis Tiffany whose famous collection is housed here in the Morse Museum of American Art. The collection is the most comprehensive anywhere with Tiffany jewelry, art glass, ornaments, pottery, paintings and leaded glass.

Surprisingly, Orlando is not just about fun for the children because adults are very well catered for in this entertainment town full of Orlando vacation resorts. For people that prefer the night, the list of things to do on an Orlando vacation is almost endless with families, teenagers and adults all well looked after.

If you are more technology and science minded then a trip to the Orlando Science Center will be a must as is a huge complex incorporating 10 halls with exhibitions everything from the Florida Everglades to the plains of Mars. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the’20s; plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car.

For something a little different there’s the Titanic Exhibition which tells the story of the ill fated Ocean Liner performed by a character from the ship; the displays contain some original salvaged items and at times the tour is very moving. Away from all the hustle is the wonderful Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown; it has beautiful sidewalks in over forty acres where it is possible to spend a few peaceful hours.

No trip to Orlando would be complete without a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort which comprises of four main theme parks plus water parks, or Universal Studios resort complex which is equally as popular. Everything you need for your vacation is in Orlando – a place that’s open all year round but if you want to escape huge crowds then avoid the holiday seasons, in particular Easter and Christmas, as the Orlando Vacation resorts are likely to be full, and the theme parks even fuller.
