Florida is home to some of the finest tropical beaches the world over, and the awards won for the standards of excellence set by the tropical shorelines are coveted by the travel world.
While the beaches get all the credit, the Florida beach environs offer a dining experience that will have your mouth watering for the duration of your break. Local produce is served everywhere and there are foods to suit all tastes.
You can surf, dive, fish and shop ’till you drop, but if it is the tropical beaches that you long to enjoy, then here are 3 Florida beach vacation destinations that you shouldn’t overlook.
Daytona Beach is billed as the “world’s most famous beach”, and with good reason. The distance across of the beach itself and the hard packed sand is a sight to bring amazement. But Daytona offers more than just beach, the Museum of Arts and Sciences is an excellent place to spend a morning, followed by Volusia Mall or the Ocean Walk Shops to liberate your pocketbook.
When it comes to Ft. Lauderdale Beach, the wavewall and beach promenade are must-sees.. The wavewall extends for two whole miles along the primary part of the beach and is one of the signatures of Ft. Lauderdale. If you like to people-watch, you won’t want to miss the elevated promenade for a leisurely walk.
My personal favorite is definitely Clearwater Beach. It might have something to do with the yummy stone crab claws served at Frenchy’s. But food aside, the sea here is some of the most wonderful I have ever swum in. Nope, there’s no such thing as a quick dip here — the sand and sea won’t let you go. Whatever you do, don’t forget to wander over to the pier at the end of the day, for a party.
You can voyage the world, but when it comes down to it, a Florida beach vacation is truly hard to beat.
